Before children measure with standard measuring tools, they can learn to measure with body parts, such as feet. When they notice that this method produces different measurements- depending on whose foot is used- they begin to understand why standard measurement units are important.
Last Friday, we took a practice spelling test. We have been learning about word families for the past few months and last week we took an -ip family test. Starting this week we will have spelling tests every Friday over our word wall words for each week which are located on the homework packet. This will help us get ready for our leap to first grade!
On Friday, we had Kalani Ahmad come visit our school. He was on America's Got Talent and is from Hawaii. He taught us to SPIN (Strive, Positive, Imagine, and Never give up). He also taught us that bullying is a serious issue and to never give up on what you believe in.
