4th Grade Buddy Class Activity
Last week, our 4th grade buddies came down to read to us! We did a "get to know you" activity first to meet our buddy for the year. They read several books from the "If You Give A" series.
Alphabet City Project
On Friday, October 17th our Alphabet City projects will be due. This project was inspired by the book Alphabet City written by Stephen P. Johnson.
Finding letters in clever places is a fun way for students to work on identifying letters. It has made our class more aware of letters and how they surround us. After sharing this book with our class we walked around our classroom in search for some letters! Here are some that we found:
W
L
U
X
O
H
Please encourage your child to look for more letters at home and send them in! We can't wait to share what we all have found and to collaborate it into a class book :)

There has been several cases of Lice in the past week. Students are getting checked daily by the nurse to make sure our class is cleared. Here is some information regarding Head Lice:
What is Lice?
- Lice are tiny insects that live on humans and feed on blood. When a large number of lice live and multiply on a person, it is called an infestation.
Where can Lice be found?
- Lice is usually found in hair, but it is most common on the back of the neck where hair and skin meet. Rarely, they can be found on eyelashes, eyebrows, and facial hair. Body lice lives in seams of clothing.
What causes Lice to spread?
- Lice spread easily from one person to another through close contact or through shared clothing or personal items (such as hats or hairbrushes). A louse cannot jump or fly. Please talk with your child at home about not hugging others, touching others hair, and not borrowing headbands/hats.
- Spray your child's hair with perfume or hairspray.
- Talk to you child about not sharing hair products
- Blow dry your child's hair
- Use hair products including tea tree oil
